Langkawi Sunset Cruise is a mid-afternoon daytrip that takes you sailing on the Andaman Sea as you kick back and relax on board a yacht. The upscale adventure starts off at the Awana Porto Malai jetty; once on board, there is an open bar with chilled soda, fruit juice, wine, and beer.
The cruise takes you within almost-touching distance of some of Langkawi’s deserted islets – unique limestone outcrops and exotic marine life are part and parcel of the voyage. Friendly yacht staff top up drinks and generally encourage a boisterous time. The million-dollar moment happens when the sun sets on the horizon and you are lounging in a deck chair with a cold drink.

All Aboard
After grabbing a thirst quencher on the ship, passengers can sample some munchies and enjoy the fresh sea breezes as the boat heads out to sea. Later, grab your swimming trunks and dip into the warm waters of the ‘saltwater Jacuzzi’ – a trawling net attached to the side of the boat serving as a safety harness that you can laze about in as the boat sets out.
The icing on the cake is the delicious barbecue spread set out for dinner – the cuisine is varied, from chicken wings to fried noodles, and tantalisingly mouth watering. An extremely popular tour in Langkawi: hands down, it is the best way to see the archipelago.

History of Sunset Cruise
The Langkawi Sunset Cruise came about because out of the entire cluster of approximately 100 islets, only two are inhabited. Most visitors to Langkawi spend their days on the beaches or exploring popular sightseeing sights such as Mahsuri’s Tomb or the Telaga Air Panas hot springs. Though there were numerous island-hopping tours that took visitors to islets such as Pulau Dayang Bunting, Pulau Singa Besar and Pulau Beras Basah, tour operators decided to showcase them from a whole new angle: thus the Langkawi Sunset Cruise was created.
