Underwater World
Directly in Pantai Tengah is the Underwater World Langkawi, a haven for marine life. Visitors will get the opportunity to travel through a tunnel that brims with fish at the sides and view various aquatic and tropical creatures. Thousands of tropical and marine fish species are housed here in an elaborate display of tanks and corals.
Among the fascinating creatures on display are leopard sharks, trigger fish, sting rays, clown fish and moray eels. Besides the fishes housed in aquariums, the Underwater World also has a rainforest area where birds and mammals are displayed in open-air enclosures. They include macaws, otters, snakes and marmosets. The Underwater World should not be missed if you’re staying in Pantai Tengah! |

Laman Padi
The Laman Padi, or ‘Rice Garden’, is dedicated to the preservation and education of this grain, which is Southeast Asia’s staple food. There is a museum with artefacts pertaining to rice cultivation and a small paddy field on the grounds where you can learn about rice and its role as Southeast Asia’s staple food. Finally, there’s a nice restaurant with ambience that cooks some lovely dishes using rice. |

Rebak Island
Rebak Island is a small island that you can walk to from the beaches of Pantai Tengah, literally. The window of opportunity to do so opens during the low tide. This little island is a magnificent paradise of sandy beaches, lush greens and colourful birds along with a shopping place, marina and restaurant. However, the low tide only lasts a while, so you need to make haste when the tide starts rising up in around 2 hours. Alternatively, you can charter a boat to explore the surrounding areas of Pulau Rebak. |
