Langkawi Car Rental Important Notes

It is to be noted that using the vehicle in contravention of any of the terms and conditions in the Rental Agreement will invalidate the CDW even though it is accepted by the Renter.

Renter is reminded that underbody and overhead damage is at the Renter's risk at all time and all insurance is void if vehicles are driven on unsealed and unmade roads or surfaces.

In additional to the above, CDW coverage will only be effected subject to the availability of a police report made within 24 hours.

Missing of vehicle accessories are not protected under CDW.

All rentals are subject to the full terms and conditions set out in the Rental Agreement.

TERMS OF PAYMENT

A deposit of 20% on the total rates (Excluding CDW) will be charged to the guest Credit Card upon confirmation by Asia Web Direct (M) Sdn Bhd. Balance is payable direct to the Agent upon collection of vehicle. We only accept Visa and Master card.

Any changes to your reservation, amendment in booking dates, hour or vehicle type in full or in part, must be made through our office and NOT through the operator.

The amendments must be made in writing, quoting the booking reference number and the email address you originally used to make your booking.

All amendment requests are subject to reconfirmation and availability.

If the amendment results in a refund of payment, an administration fee will be charged on the amount to be refunded equivalent to 5% of the total value or MYR 50, whichever is the greater.

DRIVER'S LICENCE AND AGE QUALIFICATIONS
The Agent recognises all current Malaysian driving licences. Overseas visitor may use recognised current issued by their country of residence. It is important that Renter and any additional drivers must be at least 21 years of age and over, and hold valid licences of at least one year. Provision drivers and newly qualified drivers are definitely prohibited from driving the vehicle.

The Agent reserves the right to decline a prospective Renter whose driving license carries an endorsement.

EXTENSION OF RENTAL
Any extension of rental beyond the agreed return date and time must be arranged in advance with the required additional rental paid, to ensure that the extension of insurance cover can be arranged. Failure to do so may mean the Renter is driving the vehicle without CDW coverage.

WHERE VEHICLE MAY BE USED
All registered vehicles are to be used in Langkawi island only. No permission will be given for taking the vehicles out of the island.

RENT–IT-HERE, LEAVE-IT-THERE
There are no pick-up Drop-off fees for Langkawi Island Rental.

FUEL
Petrol/Diesel is not included in the rates. Each vehicle is supplied with a full tank and shall be returned with a similar full tank. Otherwise, refuelling service will be provided at Renter's expense.

PARKING CHARGES AND TRAFFIC OFFENCE
All traffic, parking offences, courts costs and other expenses that may assessed against The Agent which are due by the reason of Renter's possession or use of vehicle, will be fully borne by the Renter. The Agent will contact the Renter where possible if it receives parking or traffic summons pertaining to the period under rental. Otherwise, Renter's particulars will be submitted to the authority concerned.

Important Notes

Booking is not confirmed until a confirmation number is advised by the car rental agency and a 20% deposit is charged on total booking value (Excluding CDW).

1 day rental is on 24hrs basis, any additional hr will be calculated at 1/6 of the daily rate to the max of 6 hrs , thereafter 1 additional day rental will be charged

A valid credit card is required to confirm each reservation. On confirmation, a refundable deposit will be charged to the card. The balance due will be payable direct to the Operator.

A 20% refundable deposit of total Rental value is required. Refunds for cancellations will be made as follows.

• If the booking is cancelled more than 5 days (for normal period) and 30 days (for Peak Season, e g. Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Christmas, New Year, Formula One Malaysian GP, World Motorcycle Championship and LIMA –For Langkawi Only) prior to arrival the deposit will be refunded, less administration fee of 5% of the amount of the deposit or MYR50 (whichever is greater).
• For cancellations less than 5 days (Normal Period) and 30 days (Peak Season) prior to arrival, the deposit will be non-refundable and 1-day rental rate will be charged by the Operator as cancellation fee.
• No Shows; the deposit will be non-refundable and 1-day rental rate will be charged by the Operator as cancellation fee.
• Early Return of Car; the deposit will be non-refundable and the balance of total booking value will be charged by the Operator as cancellation fee.
• We may refuse to hand over the car for reasons of safety or if, in the exercise of our reasonable discretion, we determine that:
  - the booking of the car has been done fraudulently or unlawfully or has been purchased from a person not authorized by us;
  - the credit card by which you paid for the Rental Deposit has been reported lost or stolen
  - the booking or email confirmation is counterfeit or fraudulently obtained;
  - the person checking in cannot prove that he is the person named on the email

All conditions are subject to change without prior notice.

Cancellations must be made in writing, quoting the booking reference number directly to tours-my@asiawebdirect.com, and not to the Operator. Your cancellation is acknowledged and accepted only when you receive a cancellation confirmation from us. Proof of sending is not regarded as proof of delivery.

Amendments
Any changes to your reservation, whether extending your rental, early return of car, delayed arrival or cancellation in full or in part, must be made through our office and NOT through the Operator reservations office.

All amendment requests for extension rental or additional cars are subject to availability.

If the amendment results in a refund of payment (reduction of rental, number of cars), an administration fee will be charged on the amount to be refunded equivalent to 5% of the total value or MYR 50, whichever is the greater.

Shortening of Rental
The shortening of rental including, but not limited to, early return of car, reduction of number of cars are considered as partial cancellation which will be subject to the aforementioned Operator’s Reservation, Cancellation and No Show Policy.

Refunds
All refunds are subject to administration fee of 5% of the amount to be refunded or a MYR 50 minimum charge (whichever is greater). Refunds will be made in the form of a credit entry to your card account only.

Claims involving refunds require supporting evidence of cancellation and you are required to inform AWD in writing within 15 days after your check-out date.

The refund amount will be made in Malaysia Ringgit or the currency charged when the booking was made, equivalent to the amount which shall be confirmed to you before the cancellation transaction is processed. You acknowledge and accept that AWD and its affiliates shall not be liable for, or responsible for any foreign exchange rate risk (exchange rate movements and rate fluctuations) in converting the refund amount to your local currency.

All credit card refunds will be processed in a timely manner. The refund process is dependent on your billing cycle with the credit card company. Once the refund instructions leave our office it can take anywhere from 10 - 45 working days for the proceeds to arrive in your account.
