The historical past of Langkawi is beautifully kept and preserved for posterity. This memorial is erected in honour of Mahsuri, a fair maiden who was unjustly accused of adultery. According to legend, she bled white blood at her executive as a sign of her innocence. There is also a museum with recorded interpretation of the Mahsuri Legend.
Gallery Perdana This gallery houses an impressive collection of over 2,500 gifts and awards presented to the former Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Dr. Mahatir Mohamad and his wife Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah. The exhibits includes crystal ware and gifts fashioned out of wood, leather, silver, copper, pewter, ceramics and many more.
This is the icon of Langkawi Island. Standing at 52 feet tall and perched majestically an open and breezy square with its front facing the sea. This is an eye catching attraction for visitors coming via Kuah Jetty. This is also one of the biggest landmarks in the world.
